Sniffing out the holiday treats! 

On behalf of the Sales Team, I want to wish you and yours a happy holiday season (I’m the pretty blonde with the green scarf in the front, right – Gracie bumped me from the center). 

We have all worked hard this year, even me – no cushy schedule for this working dog – and to celebrate we’re closing down on December 24 and 25 to spread some holiday cheer.  I, for one, am certainly hoping for snow, as my holiday begins this weekend.  But Gracie will be in to cover my post, as she usually is on the weekends, and Rachel and Dara will be here as well, so please stop by for some hot cocoa and a visit on Saturday the 22nd between 10 and 5 or Sunday the 23rd between 1 and 5.

A holiday snow romp does a dog well.  We will be back on December 26 and hope you will stop in for a visit if you can’t make it before!

The Best of Asheville…

The magic of Reynolds Mountain is its incredible combination of Mountain Majesty and Urban Flair – the beautiful quiet, the views of awe, descending gracefully into the distinctive art deco downtown of Asheville and soon-to-be bustling Reynolds Mountain Village.  Well, our astounding characteristics (sometimes seemingly oxymoronic) do not end there.  After a week of 70 degree weather we managed to keep the true blue skies, but have transitioned into snow flurries on the mountain!  And, because of our recent warm weather, we have the good fortune to watch delicious snow fall without worrying about accumulation impacting driving conditions.

It seems that Reynolds Mountain simply has a natural ability to take the most delightful of Asheville’s gifts and fashion them into the most unique of atmospheres.

“Merrimon North”

I am pleased to announce that Reynolds Mountain has received approval from the NC Department of Transportation and the Town of Woodfin to extend Merrimon Avenue through the town center portion of the Village at Reynolds Mountain.  Further capitalizing on the significance of the Merrimon Avenue extension, Reynolds Mountain has chosen the name, “Merrimon North” to signify the commercial component of our project. 

Inspired by the thriving main streets found in towns across Western North Carolina, the buildings in Merrimon North will have mercantile styling with large storefront windows on the first floors and punched window openings on second and third floors.  Additionally, the architectural design will create the impression that individual owners developed their own unique storefronts within the outline of the city block.  At full build-out Merrimon North will include approximately 410,000 square feet of retail and office space with retail on first floors and office space on second floors and nearly 90 residential loft units, which will all be on third floors.

Connected with wide sidewalks, the architectural style will combine brick and stucco on building facades with metal balconies that create both secluded places of rest and a sense of activity in the community.

Live above the clouds….

My trek through town this morning was like driving through pea soup.  The fog was ridiculous…perhaps a sign that we were in store for one of our amazing 70 degree December days, that occurs in Asheville from time to time throughout the Winter.  As I turned onto Senator Reynolds Road, I could hardly see two feet in front of me.  Then, at about 2500 feet elevation, the fog disappeared and there was nothing but blue skies, and I was reminded why I want to live on Reynolds Mountain.  I snapped a picture, which hardly captures how awe-inspiring the scene was with the breathtaking mountains perched above a bed of clouds…

Tomorrows forecast…ABUNDANT SUNSHINE.  NEAR RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES OF 73 DEGREES!  

I love Asheville.
